Examples of technology in everyday life are computers, cell phones, microwaves, cooking appliances such as dryers, and other electronic gadgets like video game consoles. Technology is everywhere, but how do we define it? What does it mean to use technology in our daily lives? When do we consider technology beyond the normal boundaries of our homes and offices?
To answer these questions, we need to take a closer look at the definition of technology. The dictionary definition is “the application of modern technology for the improvement of performance or for the creation of new systems or practices.” This definition implies that there are specific technologies out there which improve things such as communication, information technology, machine performance, scientific research, engineering, etc., as well as computer sciences. In order to solve problems, one has to apply certain technologies. There are certain specific technologies that have been applied successfully to solve problems in a variety of fields such as physics, artificial intelligence, computer science, medicine, and computer engineering to name a few.
The definition of modern technology may be considered controversial, however, the experts in this field would argue otherwise. One way to look at this is to note that innovations are constantly occurring. Even with the arrival of new technologies, the underlying principles are still quite the same. These principles include Moore’s law, which is named after James Clerk Maxwell who predicted that the number of transistors that can be fitted on an electronic circuit will double approximately every four years. Since then, this prediction has proven to be true.
Computers have been around since the mid-to late 19th century and they paved the way for more complex and faster machines such as the transistor and the computer. One of the most important inventions was the telephone, which was invented by electrical engineer Philip Diehl. Basically, telephone operators now are considered to be the main carriers of telephone information technology as well as the primary method for transmitting data over long distances.
Biotechnology, information technology, and healthcare are three sectors that directly affect each other. In this article, I will discuss three technological breakthroughs which have significantly affected these industries. Biotechnology is a term that is used to define the study of living organisms. It is a field that uses the concepts of genetics in order to create new products or organisms. Examples of such creations are antibiotics, enzymes, DNA repair, synthetic biology, and genetic engineering.
Neolithic printing press is considered to be one of the most significant advancements when it comes to technology. This type of printing press first appeared in the early Mesolithic period. It is believed that it can be traced back to between the Thorengal settlement in Germany and the Olinda civilization in South Africa. This type of technological innovation introduced the concept of not less printing which required ink rollers to apply ink onto paper.
The first independent variable in this model is extrinsic factors. These are all external factors such as population demographics, cultural norms, natural world conditions, and communication technologies. The second independent variable is Culture. This refers to the values and beliefs regarding the natural world and the impact they have on the people who observe and interact with the environment on a daily basis.
The last independent variable is the intergenerational communication process. This refers to the informal communication processes and social organizations that occur within each generation. These informal networks form because of various shared interests and experiences. Therefore, it is believed that future generations will continue to change the ways that technologies are developed, invented, and utilized until the process is completely controlled by a few individuals.
